That benighted land ruled by the insane Kim Jong-Il is now open for tourists! The website of the group that offers the tours seem to be quite frank about the situation any tourist will face in the Hermit Kingdom. Although I am not a fan of Communist countries, I must say that I’m sorely tempted to visit, were it not for the steep prices.
It offers a glimpse of 1984 writ large – an entire country regimented and trained to obey the whims of its Dear Leader. I’m sure it’s not pretty, but it will be very educational. Let’s go!
